Job description

The Mitigation Technician plays a crucial role in supporting emergency response and restoration projects to meet client and insurance company requirements. This position involves applying restoration techniques such as content and structural cleaning, structural drying, and water remediation, following IICRC S-500 Standards. The Mitigation Technician collaborates with team members under supervision in residential and commercial settings, and may also work independently to ensure the successful execution of emergency response and restoration efforts, meet project goals, and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform cleaning and restoration services at customer job sites and in the warehouse, including disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and restoring structures, personal property, and specialized items;
  2. Conduct moisture mapping, water extraction, mold remediation, cleaning of affected surfaces, and demolition/removal of building materials to support restoration, adhering to IICRC guidelines;
  3. Photograph and document all restoration-related work throughout the project;
  4. Maintain vehicles, restock supplies, ensure equipment functionality, and uphold a clean, organized work environment;
  5. Ensure safety and compliance by conducting hazard assessments, maintaining hazard-free job sites, and ensuring proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and PPE. Report unsafe conditions promptly, participate in safety training, and support safety initiatives as directed;
  6. Foster customer satisfaction through professionalism, strong relationships, and prompt, accurate communication with clients, subcontractors, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders;
  7. Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  2. Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
  3. Understanding of customer service principles and practices;
  4. Attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding property and information;
  5. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR’s Auto Policy.
