A restoration service provider in Kingston is seeking a Mitigation Technician to support emergency response and restoration projects. The role involves performing cleaning and restoration services, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering strong customer relationships. Ideal candidates will have organizational skills, attention to detail, and a valid driver's license.
The Mitigation Technician is key in supporting emergency response and restoration projects to meet
client and insurance company requirements. This position involves applying restoration techniques in
content and structural cleaning, structural drying, and water remediation, following IICRC S-500
Standards. The Mitigation Technician collaborates with team members under supervision in residential
and commercial settings. They may also work independently to ensure the successful execution of
emergency response and restoration efforts, meet project goals, and exceed customer expectations.
2. Key Responsibilities:
● Perform cleaning and restoration services at customer job sites and in the warehouse, including
disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and restoring structures, personal property, and
specialized items;
● Perform moisture mapping, water extraction, mould remediation, cleaning of affected surfaces,
and demolition and removal of building materials to support the restoration process, adhering to
IICRC guidelines;
● Photograph and document all restoration-related work throughout the restoration project;
● Maintain vehicles, restock supplies, ensure equipment functionality, and uphold a clean and
organized work environment;
● Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by conducting hazard assessments, maintaining
organized and hazard-free job sites, and ensuring proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools,
equipment, and PPE. Promptly report and document unsafe conditions or incidents, actively
participate in safety training and inspections, and support organizational safety initiatives as
directed by the Health and Safety Department;
● Foster customer satisfaction by maintaining professionalism, building strong relationships, and
ensuring prompt, accurate communication with clients, subcontractors, insurance adjustors and
other relevant stakeholders; and
● Any other reasonable duties as assigned.
3. Qualifications:
i. Required:
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a diversified workload and meet deadlines
in a fast-paced environment;
● Ability to work independently or as a team, as required;
● Understanding of customer service principles and practices;
● Attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information; and
● Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR’s Auto Policy.
