Job summary

BFM Foundation Canada’s Mission Thrift Store Newmarket invites you to join as a Store Associate, serving as a primary cashier and delivering exceptional customer service on the sales floor.

You’ll process transactions, maintain a welcoming checkout area, assist with merchandising, restocking and store cleanliness, while working with volunteers and staff in a fast-paced thrift environment.

Qualifications

• Prior retail cashier experience is preferred.
• Experience with volunteers/non-profit environments is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math for cash handling and totals reconciliation.
• Proficient with cash registers and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide helpful service.
• Process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and stock supplies.
• Assist with pricing, tagging, and restocking merchandise.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure a positive store atmosphere.
