Job summary

IAMGOLD in Canada is seeking a Mining Technologist for the Côté Gold Mine. You will support Technical Services by collecting, analyzing, and coordinating data on a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation to enable data-driven decisions.

The role involves QA/QC for drilling, blasting, geotechnical and geological operations; field surveys with GPS and 3D scanning; data trend analysis; cross-functional collaboration; and calibration of surveying tools.

Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma or degree in Mine Technology or Mining Engineering.
• Drone Pilot Certificate – Basic or Advanced Operations is preferred.
• 2-5 years of open pit mining experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with mining QA/QC standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support Technical Services in QA/QC for drilling, blasting, geotechnical, and geological ops.
• Perform field surveys using GPS and 3D scanning to capture accurate mine site data.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and support performance improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain calibration and integrity of testing and surveying equipment.
• Document deviations from quality standards and assist in staff training on QA/QC procedures.

We’re actively searching for a Mining Technologist to join the Côté Gold Mine team, with a start date to be determined, reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer. This role supports Technical Services by collecting, analyzing, and coordinating operational data on a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation. This role contributes to IMG’s purpose by enabling data‑driven decision‑making and innovation in mining operations. By supporting efficient, safe, and forward‑thinking practices, the Technologist helps optimize performance and advance sustainable resource development for a better tomorrow.

Responsibilities

• Support Technical Services in the execution of QA/QC protocols for drilling, blasting, geotechnical, and geological operations.
• Execute field surveys using high‑precision GPS and 3D scanning technology to capture accurate mine site data.
• Compile and analyze operational data to identify trends and support initiatives for improving mine performance.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with technical and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage equipment integrity by performing regular maintenance and calibration of all specialized testing and surveying tools.
• Monitor compliance by documenting and reporting any deviations from established mine quality standards.
• Facilitate staff development by assisting in the training of personnel on standardized QA/QC procedures and safety protocols.
• Optimize data management by maintaining organized records and reports to ensure technical accuracy across all departments.

Qualifications

Key Skills & Knowledge

• Post secondary diploma or degree in Mine Technology or Mining Engineering.
• 2-5 years of open pit mining experience.
• Preferred: Drone Pilot Certificate – Basic or Advanced Operations from Transport Canada
• Familiarity with industry‑specific quality standards and regulations.
• Experience using Trimble, Drones, Mineplan 3D is a plus.
• Technical proficiency with testing equipment and software.

Salary Range: $70,800- $97,400
