Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a Safety Coordinator to promote a strong safety culture at the Cadomin Mine. You will partner with employees, supervisors, and contractors to ensure health and safety standards are met and risks are mitigated.

Responsibilities include implementing the Safety/Health Management System, guiding compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance across surface and underground mining

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant safety experience in building materials, heavy construction, mining or manufacturing.
• Holds or is pursuing a CRSP designation.
• Experience and competence in developing and implementing safety programs.
• Strong management, interpersonal, and influencing skills at all levels from senior operations to plant level employees.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support all Safety and Health programs including Heidelberg Materials Safety/Health Management System.
• Provide ongoing safety and health support and guidance to the Cadomin limestone mine operation, management and employees.
• Interpret and apply current and emerging safety regulatory requirements at Federal, Provincial and local levels.
• Ensure compliance through organizational measures including guidelines, training, and monitoring.
• Proactively manage safety and health to continually improve performance.
