Job summary

TULLOCH, based in Timmins, ON, seeks a Materials Testing Lab Technician - Mining for a 3-month contract. You will perform on-site tests, soil sampling, and data collection, and conduct laboratory testing of soils and concrete per standards. Inspections, QA/QC monitoring, and material quantity control are essential.

Flexible rotations may apply. Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Mining Engineering diploma or 5+ years in surveying/civil construction, with strong communication skills and a valid

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a college diploma from a Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Survey Technician program or 5+ years of surveying/civil construction experience.
• Ability to perform on-site tests and laboratory testing of soils and concrete in accordance with standards; documentation and reporting.
• Undertake civil construction inspections with QC & QA monitoring for compliance with drawings and contract specs.
• Be responsible for material quantity control and travel as required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform materials testing, including on-site tests, soil sampling, and data collection
• Perform laboratory testing of soils and concrete in accordance with the applicable standards, including documentation and reporting of results
• Undertake civil construction inspections, including QC & QA monitoring to confirm compliance with drawings and contract specifications
• Be responsible for material quantity control
• Perform compaction testing of granular material at specified lift intervals using a nuclear densometer
