Job summary

Scotiabank in Vancouver is seeking an Analyst in Investment Banking, Mining within GBM. You will evaluate financial needs, build models, and support transaction execution. You will interact with corporate clients, prepare presentations, and contribute to deal origination.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree is required in Business/Finance/Math/Engineering/Economics/Science, with 1–2 years of capital markets experience preferred. This is an onsite role at GBM in Canada.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of capital markets, accounting or financial valuation experience.
• Experience in Investment Banking or M&A is preferred.
• Natural resources experience an asset.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science or Technology.
• Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze the financial and strategic needs of corporate clients.
• Collect, consolidate, interpret and present company and industry data.
• Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis including creating and maintaining financial models.
• Support transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility over time.
• Identify and develop business opportunities with clients.
• Prepare client presentations, including data and materials assembling.
• Support drafting of prospectuses and marketing materials for transactions.
• Apply product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve objectives.
