Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics to join the Albian site in Fort McMurray, Alberta. These professionals will perform maintenance and repairs on Caterpillar mining equipment in a field environment.

The ideal candidates are safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and have strong experience with CAT mining equipment. This is a camp-based role with a premium wage, paid flights, and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET).
• Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with strong CAT mining equipment knowledge in the field.
• Valid driver's license with recent abstract; ability to obtain site access and wear respirator where applicable.
• Comfortable working in austere mining environments, often alone with no supervision.
• Willingness to join the associated union and comply with collective agreement terms.

What You’ll Need

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with strong knowledge of Caterpillar mining equipment in the field
• Valid driver’s license and recent drivers abstract
• Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• Comfortable working in an austere mining environment, often alone with no supervision
• Willingness to join the associated union and comply with collective agreement terms
