Job summary

Independent Rebuild Specialist is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar diesel engines and heavy mining equipment on-site. The role requires strong mechanical and technical skills, independent work ability, and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

The position involves 14 days on/14 days off rotations with 12-hour shifts, travel from Calgary/Edmonton to Fort McMurray, and on-site camp accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Red Seal HET Journeyperson certificate required.
• Fall Protection & Elevated Work Platform certs required.
• 2+ years of mining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar diesel engines and mining equipment.
• Maintain service reports, inspections, and warranty documentation.
• Coordinate parts credits, warranties, and on-site repairs within budget.
• Operate Caterpillar ET/SIS tools and document customer interactions.
• Ensure safety and quality workmanship on all field assignments.
