As the Mining Field Operations Manager, you’ll oversee all field service activities in our Northeastern BC mine sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality equipment support. You’ll lead a team of technicians, manage scheduling and dispatch, and serve as the primary point of contact for customer interactions.

For this position, the expected salary range is between $130,000 and $140,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications. We also offer additional incentives such as an annual bonus and premium for certain shifts.

Job Description:
  • Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all field operations comply with Finning’s safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support field service staff through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Conuma Resources, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and alignment with service expectations.
  • Collaborate with field supervisors to prioritize and schedule service work, ensuring optimal technician allocation and job execution.
  • Review and manage daily, weekly, and monthly service results, including SWIP metrics, to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.
  • Ensure adherence to the National Safety Code (NSC), manage service truck compliance, and oversee tooling and equipment standards.
  • Oversee warranty processes for CAT and non-CAT equipment, and ensure alignment with Caterpillar’s product health and service structures.
  • Foster a positive working relationship with unionized employees and ensure compliance with collective agreements and performance protocols.
  • Ensure timely closure and invoicing of work orders, maintaining accuracy and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities to align field operations with business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment and engines in a field service or leadership capacity.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a proven ability to coach, motivate, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with a customer-first mindset.
  • Solid understanding of Caterpillar processes, including warranty, goodwill, and product health structures.
  • Knowledge of the National Safety Code (NSC) and field safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in unionized environments, with knowledge of collective agreements and performance management practices.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in financial planning, budgeting, and interpreting KPIs related to branch profitability.

  • Continuous shift 14 x 14, 11.5-hour days.
