Mining Engineer, Mine Control Specialist

This is an onsite Mining Consultant role supporting our Fleet Management Solution’s (Pitram) client in Indonesia. Oversee implementation projects. Train customers & provide technical support. BETA test new products. Assist with product demonstrations & events.

About The Opportunity

As the Consulting Mining Engineer, Mine Control, you will support the implementation of our fleet management and mine production system, Micromine Pitram, at a major underground operation in Indonesia. This position will be working on a mine site with a FIFO (fly in fly out) roster from Canada to Mimika region, Indonesia (8 weeks on, 3 weeks off).

You’ll play a key role in implementation, training and ongoing supporting, acting as the front-line technical support contact for our client.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, Mine Control (Americas), your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the successful ongoing onsite implementation and support of Micromine Pitram projects at an underground client mine site
  • Delivery training sessions for clients and internal teams (onsite and remote)
  • Ensuring enhancement requests, bugs, and development issues are raised and resolved
  • BETA testing new versions and products to check improved functionality
  • Supporting the Sales team with technical demonstrations, trade shows, and other events

About You

You are a qualified mining engineer, or hold a similar qualification, with hands-on underground mining experience and a passion for technology-driven solutions. You are comfortable in a client-facing role and are comfortable working onsite in a FIFO capacity.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in either Mining Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics, Geology, or a related discipline
  • 4-7+ years of operational experience in underground mining environments
  • 3+ years of experience with Micromine Pitram is a requirement
  • Strong problem solving skills and technical acumen
  • Spoken and written English fluency
  • The ability to travel, nationally or internationally, to manage Micromine Pitram implementations
  • Previous experience in technical support or consulting is a plus
