PETRONAS Canada seeks a Mineral Land Negotiator and Contracts Landman in Calgary to negotiate and manage contracts while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. THE ROLE:
We’re expanding our Regulatory and Land team and have an opportunity for a temporary Mineral Land Negotiator and Contracts Landman position, located in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Director, Development, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and negotiate, draft and interpret various tyles of agreements.HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Negotiation of various types of agreements (Farm-ins, Farm-outs, Acquisitions, Sales and Swaps etc.) and ability to draft, review, provide feedback, and interpret the agreements
Resolution of contract disputes
Strong working knowledge of provincial regulations
Work closely with a variety of internal multidisciplinary teams in Exploration and Development, Joint Ventures and Business Development
Auditing and review of Independent Operation Notices (ION), Abandonment Notices, Rights of First Refusal (ROFR), Request to Drill (RTD) agreements to ensure accuracy
Ability to analyze and maximize PETRONAS Canada’s value on expiring lands and
Coordinate, prepare and process conveyance documentation
Strong working knowledge of CAPL Operating Procedures, CAPL Farmout and Royalty Procedure and CAPL Property Transfer Procedure
Ability to communicate effectively with partners and government agencies
Provide mentoring to team members
WHAT YOU BRING:
Graduate of a recognized Land program plus 5+ years negotiation experience
10+ years of A&D Contract experience
Strong working knowledge of CAPL Operating Procedures, CAPL Farmout and Royalty Procedure
Working knowledge and experience with CS Explorer, MS Word and MS Excel required; familiarity with GeoScout would be an asset
Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing deadlines with attention to detail
A strong industry network
Excellent organization and communication skills
