YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Supervisor – Underground Mine, you will be part of the Mining Department. You will ensure that goals are achieved while promoting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.

Your responsibilities

  • Operate Dynominer equipment or ANFO lateral loaders (EC3 or AC3);
  • Perform work according to our Health and Safety and quality standards;
  • Work safely and efficiently to meet production requirements;
  • Perform daily equipment inspections;
  • Inspect your work environment by scaling rocks;
  • Drill holes according to drawings and specifications;
  • Load and blast rounds;
  • Ensure site rehabilitation using proper bolt patterns;
  • Participate in water, air, and ventilation services using equipment like scissor lifts, jacklegs, and stoppers;
  • Maintain health and safety of yourself and team during work;
  • Operate other equipment as required;
  • Obtain certification on additional equipment if needed;
  • Complete work orders;
  • Assist in preparing production stopes if required;
  • Operate equipment related to development as needed (see Career Path);
  • Obtain certification on development equipment if required (see Career Path).

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • A minimum of 2000 hours on Dynominer or ANFO lateral loaders (EC3 or AC3);
  • 4000 hours in development work (e.g., face loading, pipe work, ventilation, ground support);
  • High School Diploma;
  • Nunavut Arctic College (NAC) Certification or equivalent in mineral extraction;
  • Underground hard rock mining modular training certificate or equivalent;
  • Valid Approval Letter under Explosives Regulations or equivalent (Explosives Permit, PAL, Nexus Card);
  • Certification on other equipment (e.g., Loading Unit, Production Scoop - 12yds) is an asset;
  • Physical ability to perform duties;
  • Good work ethic and positive attitude;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork ability;
  • Experience in multicultural environments;
  • Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).

Note: The official working language at Nunavut operations is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on-site at no cost; flights are arranged by Agnico Eagle, with other travel expenses covered based on residence.
