Job description

Foran Mining Corporation (TSX: FOM), a modern mining company that wants to change what mining means to people. We are hiring a Miner 4 - Underground Truck Operator to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site, in Northern Saskatchewan working at our camp on a rotational basis with a 7/7 schedule.

As part of the Underground Team, the Miner 4 provides essential support to the mining activities during various stages of mine operation. This role involves assistance in setting up or operating equipment, transporting materials while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Miner 4 positions play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and supporting the overall productivity of our mining operations. Progression opportunities based on skills, experience and training will be available in 2025 and beyond.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn various aspects of the above-mentioned roles while contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate underground haul truck.
  • Transport tools and materials to work sites for development activities.
  • Assist in installing ground support systems and drilling operations.
  • Assist the mining crew with extending and repairing services.
  • Set up and prepare mining equipment for excavation and drilling.
  • Conduct pre-shift equipment checks and routine maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Respond to emergencies by following established procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area by removing debris and waste.
  • Ensure broken material does not pose risks and facilitate its removal.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and equipment maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Maintain safety bays and MineArc / Refuge Stations (PC).
  • Maintain Haulage ways and Lunchrooms (PC).

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience working in an underground mine environment.
  • Specialized training in underground equipment operation and underground mining safety is preferred.
  • Experience working as an offsider or experience around jumbo drills is considered an asset.
  • Experience operating underground trucks and haulage equipment is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in underground mining.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces and challenging underground conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive Hourly Rate: $39.89 - $51.29/hr which includes a target-based monthly bonus.
  • 100% Employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Long-term disability Insurance.
  • RSP with company match.
