ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at the Macassa Mine Site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Miner 2 to join our Mine Operations team.

The Macassa Mine is a high-grade gold producer, with grade improving at depth, and a key valuation driver for Agnico Eagle. Located in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the Macassa Mine remains one of the highest gold grade mines in the world. Macassa commenced operations in 2002, and with the discovery of the South Mine Complex, has significantly increased its production over the past five years. The mine is in a well-developed infrastructure area, including a provincial highway, railway, and private airport. High-grade ore is processed at the Macassa Mill, which has available capacity and is nearby.

A Miner 2 - Bolter will support mine operations and be part of the underground team, including Services/Construction and Shaft/Maintenance. The role supports others and is part of the team. This position could be with our #3 Shaft or Near Surface Mining Teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completed & ongoing competence with required core modules:
• Perform Mechanical Cut and Fill Mining Non-Captive Stope and/or Perform Undercut and Fill Mining, Scoop draw point, Haulage trackless, Install and maintain Underground pipe system, Ventilation and maintenance, other competencies as per the KLG Underground Mining Classification Guideline.
• Competently perform all Mining 3 & 4 functions (Prod./Dev’t)
• Demonstrate competence in relevant UG Hardrock common core,
• Housekeeping – keep work areas clean and hazard-free
• Communication – listen to and communicate with others, keep accurate records on 5 point card, aligning with daily tasks
• Teamwork – work with others to meet and where possible exceed daily KPI’s set by Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

Physical demands and requirements:

• Shift work Day and Night
• Ground to waist height up to 40kg occasionally, 10 kg frequently
• Waist to shoulder height up to 40kg as capable
• Carry up to 40 kg as capable
• Occasional to frequent heavy push pull. Occasional sitting
• Constant standing. Constant walking over uneven ground
• Occasional to frequent working in awkward positions – squatting, kneeling, bent over
• Working with arms overhead
• Tool use
• High physical strength and endurance demands
• Environment conditions can be: hot, cold, humid, wet, dusty. Lighting is restricted. May be excessive noise. Airflow is artificial.
• Ground conditions may be wet, muddy, slippery, sloped inclines, loose rocks, and obstacles on the ground.

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Miner 3 or equivalent (-4 years UG)
• Physically Fit, self-starter with a can-do attitude
• Tolerance for hot, cold, and humid environments
• Demonstrated Safety awareness
• Literacy and Numeracy to minimum year/grade 10
