Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Intermediate Mine Waste Engineer based in the Sudbury or North Bay area to contribute to the design, assessment, construction, and monitoring of mine waste facilities. You will apply geotechnical engineering and environmental insight to deliver safe, sustainable solutions that meet regulatory and client requirements, working with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers growth opportunities within a global consulting firm and requires 5–7 years of relevant experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/geotechnical/mining engineering required.
  • 5–7 years of mine waste management or geotechnical experience.
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Design mine waste facilities including tailings storage and waste rock dumps.
  • Deliver geotechnical and environmental assessments, including stability and seepage analyses.
  • Develop mine waste management plans aligned with regulations and standards.
  • Monitor facility performance and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare data-driven technical reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with geologists, environmental scientists and contractors through project lifecycle.
