Job summary

DMC Mining Services in Sudbury, ON is seeking a Mine Technician on a full-time contract. This entry-level role provides hands-on training in underground construction and development, with QA/QC support and adherence to project specifications.

You will assist the project team, perform basic surveying, prepare reports, and help manage materials and prints. The role requires a Mining or Civil Technology diploma, strong computer skills (Word/Excel) and AutoCAD, with a 5-2 Monday-to-Friday rotation

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mining (or Civil) Technology is required.
• Entry level position – hands on training provided.
• Proficient in Word/Excel; AutoCAD experience preferred; strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Supports construction team with organizational skills for underground work.
• Works with Project Engineer to ensure requirements are available for execution.
• Audits job boards for missing prints or information and checks material availability.
• Proficient with surveying; markup headings and civil structures; assist with QA/QC tasks.
• Complete concrete sampling and prepare detailed shift reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Summary

DMC is currently looking for a Mine Technician to join our team on a full-time contract basis, based in Sudbury, ON. This is an entry-level opportunity, ideal for recent graduates looking to begin their career in the mining industry. The Mine Technician will be responsible for assisting with underground construction and development activities. The incumbent will ensure that project specifications and requirements are adhered to, while assisting with QA/QC requirements

Responsibilities

• Provides prominent organizational skills to support the construction team for underground work.
• Works closely with the Project Engineer to ensure all requirements to execute the work are available and supported in a timely manner.
• Regularly audit job boards for missing prints or information.
• Regular audits of material to ensure material is available for upcoming tasks.
• Proficient with surveying. Ability to markup new headings, markup construction anchors and other civil structures.
• Complete concrete sampling (slump testing, collect break cylinders) as required.
• Complete a detailed report of work being completed on a shift-by-shift basis.
• Other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mining (or Civil) Technology.
• Entry level position – hands on training will be provided.
• Proficient on a computer with excellent skills in basic programs (Word, Excel).
• Proficient at AutoCAD.
• Exceptional written, oral communication and client management skills

Working Environment

• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Very hot working conditions (must be able to withstand regular temps of 30 degrees).
• Working underground on day-to-day basis.
• 5-2 rotation schedule (Monday to Friday).

• We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
• Hourly rate is expected to be $24 CAD + hourly incentive bonus.
