About Us

McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.

Position and Responsibilities

  • Operating, inspecting and maintaining the main cage and skip conveyance
  • Preparing equipment and materials to be moved to and from the underground using slings and rigging
  • Operating equipment such as JCB loader and skid steer loader
  • Working with a diverse workforce (Cameco employees, contractors and trades personnel)
  • Fulfil all duties as detailed in the mine’s regulations Mine Shaft 3 operator training requirements

Education and Qualifications

Requirements of the position:

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of underground mining experience
  • Must successfully pass the crane and rigging course
  • Able to work at heights using fall arrest
  • Willing to work in confined spaces
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
