B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Location and Reporting Structure


Reporting to the Senior UG Engineer, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing level designs and ventilation requirements for underground operations;
• Conduct weekly ventilation surveys and prepare comprehensive reports;
• Maintain updated mine rescue and escapeway prints to ensure compliance and safety;
• Support sea lift orders related to ventilation needs;
• Assist in setting and maintaining standards for mine services;
• Contribute to long-term dewatering planning and assist with detailed infrastructure prints, including sumps, cemented rock fill (CRF) setups, egresses, and other essential services;
• Support consultants with detailed engineering projects, including fuel bays, compressor layouts, and maintenance shops;
• Develop and perform a quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) program for CRF;
• Support the implementation of the CRF process, including long-term infrastructure needs and designs; and
• Create detailed prints for stope backfill requirements and support the design of backfill infrastructure.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Five (5) years of experience in mine engineering or technical roles related to ventilation, infrastructure, or backfill in an underground mining environment;
• Diploma in Mining Engineering or a related field;
• Familiarity with engineering software for ventilation and mine design (e.g., Ventsim, Deswik); and
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for underground mining.
