Job description

MFM LP, a Mikisew Group company, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mine Mobile Maintenance Planner to join our operation at Kearl Lake. This position is available as either Employee or Subcontractor status.

MFM LP provides comprehensive client services in vehicle inspection, light-duty vehicle repair, overhead crane services, and professional services.

Location: This position will be based in Calgary, AB.

Shift: 40 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday

Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mine Mobile Maintenance Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating efficient maintenance plans for mobile mining equipment to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance. This role is crucial for safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within our maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review and validate work requests for accuracy and scope.
  2. Develop detailed maintenance job plans and schedules.
  3. Conduct field checks to ensure plans align with on-site conditions.
  4. Estimate and plan job costs, materials, labor, and tools.
  5. Coordinate parts, tools, and services to support job execution.
  6. Maintain and improve maintenance task lists and documentation.
  7. Support meetings and align maintenance with operations.
  8. Analyze costs and performance data to support improvements.
  9. Ensure job plans are safe, executable, and meet standards.
  10. Collaborate across departments, vendors, and contractors.
Qualifications:
  1. Education/Certification:
    • Engineering degree or certified Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanical Trade.
  2. Experience:
    • 1–5 years in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability (Oil & Gas/mining preferred).
  3. Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
    • Solid understanding of planning and scheduling processes.
  4. Equipment Knowledge:
    • Familiar with mine mobile equipment: 4100 AC/DC, 7495HF Shovels, CAT 797/793/785, D11s, loaders, and support fleets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  2. Develop and maintain accurate job plans and work packages.
  3. Ensure resource availability for efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
  4. Monitor job execution and adjust plans based on performance feedback.
  5. Maintain documentation and records in compliance with standards.
  6. Coordinate external vendors and service providers.
  7. Contribute to safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
