Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mining Manager to lead site-based mining projects, coordinating planning, construction and safety compliance.

You will oversee mine supervisors, maintenance supervisors and mine planners to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule and budget. The role requires 3–5 years in mining project management, strong leadership, and proficiency with Procore and MS Project.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of project management experience in mining
• Strong knowledge of hard rock open pit mining
• Experience leading project teams
• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office
• Drafting experience and mine planning software such as Datamine Studio OP, Trimble Business Center, Carlson or Surpac
• Ability to read mine plans, drawings and contracts
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent communication with project teams, clients and stakeholders
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance
• Degree or diploma in Mining/Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field

• Assist in preparation of tender documents, subcontracts and purchase orders

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mining Manager to manage and oversee all aspects of our ongoing mining projects. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating project activities, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. In this site-based role you will lead a team of mine supervisors, maintenance supervisors and mine planners to ensure all mine components are aligned and executed according to the project schedule, scope, and budget.

Your keen attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, and organizational skills will be critical in ensuring that the project runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently from start to finish. With your coordination expertise, you’ll help drive the success of mining projects, ensuring the integrity and safety of the construction process.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of mine planning and mine construction projects to achieve overall mine plan targets
• Coordinate all aspects of a successful mining operation including mining, drill and blast, maintenance, and engineering
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and mine resource allocation
• Manage communication between the client, internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely execution of mine project tasks.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, technical documents, and specifications to ensure all work complies with project requirements
• Prepare and track progress reports, change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation
• Ensure that all work activities are completed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
• Perform site visits to monitor progress, verify work quality, and resolve any issues on-site
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the mining industry
• Strong knowledge of mining construction processes, with a focus on hard rock open pit mining
• Experience building and/or leading successful project teams
• Proficiency in using project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar), as well as Microsoft Office Suite
• Previous drafting experience and experience with mine planning software would be considered an asset - Programs such as Datamine Studio OP, Trimble Business Center, Carlson or Surpac
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans, drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance
• Degree or diploma in Mining/Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is an asset
