Overview

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products and people to build walls, ceilings and careers. CGC Inc. is currently hiring a Mine Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) Co‑op for our Hagersville plant for a 1‑year term.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting preventative maintenance programs and updating maintenance records.
  • Assisting with corrective actions and required repairs.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Performing housekeeping duties as required and maintaining a clean workstation.
Requirements
  • Currently working towards a Millwright certification.
  • Proficient mechanical understanding.
  • General welding and fabrication knowledge.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of belt drive equipment, conveyors and rock crushers.
  • Well organized and demonstrates the ability to work safely.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team.
  • Able to work in an underground mine environment.
Compensation

Hourly wage: $34.73. Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
