Mine Hoisting Service Engineer - HMI, Cyber Security

Position Overview

This position reports to the Hoisting Service Manager and is based in Montreal, QC. The role involves supporting North American hoisting systems with a focus on cybersecurity, HMI, remote support, and networking, ensuring system security, functionality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership in Hoisting HMI, Network, and Cyber-Security for the North American ABB Hoisting service team.
  2. Collaborate with product teams to integrate cybersecurity into products and services.
  3. Work with cybersecurity officers to obtain product and service approvals.
  4. Install, update, and configure Human Machine Interfaces for ABB hoisting applications.
  5. Configure and commission advanced hoist monitoring solutions, utilizing cloud or on-premises data analysis.
  6. Analyze customer requirements to ensure system objectives are met, combining industry best practices and product knowledge.
  7. Develop and apply standardized solutions and procedures, reporting inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  8. Manage cybersecurity tools and evaluate control system security, creating security concepts based on customer needs and standards.
  9. Ensure delivery and continuous functionality of Remote Services Contracts in collaboration with project managers and technicians.
  10. Set up, install, and commission remote connections.
  11. Support local sales with technical presentations and demos, providing hands-on customer site support.
Qualifications
  • Technical/engineering degree with 5+ years in cybersecurity management.
  • Strong customer focus, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and French; Spanish is an asset. French is required.
  • Valid passport and driver's license; willingness to travel across Canada, US, and Mexico.
  • Expertise in industrial automation, cybersecurity for control systems, OT network design, and standards like ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Certifications such as GICSP, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP preferred.
  • Experience with control system security, risk assessments, and network design.
