Your next challenge:

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be part of the Geology Department. Your responsibilities include:

  • Promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant working environment;
  • Ensuring ore block mark-ups are completed and checked against design plans;
  • Following ore design procedures and managing ore-polygon data;
  • Updating Grade Control block models with mineable ore polygons;
  • Identifying and sampling blast holes correctly, performing NAG/PAG sampling as per procedures;
  • Ensuring geological personnel and drilling contractors work safely and collect representative samples;
  • Compiling and evaluating geological data to improve modeling and estimation;
  • Communicating effectively with geological, engineering, and operations teams;
  • Updating databases and software with drilled hole data;
  • Providing updated drilling plans for weekly reports;
  • Applying geoscience expertise in drilling, sampling, QA/QC, grade control, and reconciliation;
  • Creating geological maps and interpretations using digital techniques and software;
  • Creating block models for resource/reserve estimation;
  • Processing ore blast movement using specialized equipment and technology.
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology;
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a production geologist, preferably in an open-pit mine;
  • Registration and good standing with the APGO or in the process of registration;
  • Eligible for Drone pilot registration;
  • Experience with 3D software, preferably Datamine Studio RM or Maptek Vulcan;
  • Experience with geological modeling and drill core logging;
  • Experience working at remote sites is an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Schedule: 14/14 at Detour Lake Mine.
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on-site at no cost. Transportation is arranged, and other travel expenses are covered based on your residence in Canada.
