Job summary

Gibraltar Mines Limited in McLeese Lake, BC, seeks a Mine Engineer to rotate through Short-range Planning, Long-range Planning, Drill/Blast, Dewatering, Dispatch/Systems and Ore control. You will prepare weekly plans aligned with budgets and 18-month forecasts, and design pit and dump layouts while driving productivity across mining fleets.

The role requires a PE license in BC or eligibility, 4+ years in open pit mining, and strong communication skills; EITs are considered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in rotating positions across different Mine Engineering roles.
• Complete and present weekly mine plans that support the annual budget and long range mine plans.
• Present detailed sequencing of the mine plan for up to 3 months.
• Complete an annual mine plan and annual budget in line with organizational strategy and corporate direction.
• Produce rolling 18 month forecast updates.
• Produce or review Pit and Dump designs.
• Evaluate, propose, implement and manage new productivity initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity of Gibraltar's shovel, truck and drill fleets.
• Interact with other departments on site to achieve department and site objectives.

Once fully operational, the project will have a production capacity of 85 million pounds of copper per year over a 20-year mine life.

The Yellowhead Project is a large, long-life copper project that Taseko added to its development portfolio in 2019. Located 150km north of Kamloops in the Thompson-Nicola region of BC, the Yellowhead deposit is similar to the Gibraltar deposit in size and grade. The Company is currently preparing to initiate the provincial and federal Environmental Assessment process for Yellowhead, while advancing technical and other work required to move the project towards production.

Key Responsibilities
