Job description

Our client located in Grimsby, ON is currently seeking an experienced Millwright to join their growing team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Lead Millwright shall support the Manufacturing department in all areas pertaining to field installation, inspections, repairs / troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

This is a Temporary to Permanent role

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Provide expert guidance and support for technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
  2. Work closely with engineering, project management, and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  3. Conduct on-site evaluations to analyze systems, equipment, and processes, identifying areas for improvement or troubleshooting.
  4. Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair of machinery.
  5. Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  6. Prepare field Service Reports and Inspection Checklists to be submitted to Service Coordinator in a timely manner.
  7. Submit accurate Time Sheets and Expense Reports to PSG Manager for approval.
  8. Aid in estimating and planning of site work as required.
  9. Strictly follow the “Service Department Travel Guidelines” at all times.
  10. Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  11. Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  12. Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  13. Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations.
  14. Ensure tests and procedures are properly executed, carried out, and evaluated.

Requirements

  1. Relevant certification such as A is an asset / or strong background in machine assembly will be considered as equivalent.
  2. Experience in controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an asset.
  3. Experience in scissor lift builds, screw / jack installs and alignment, belt and chain drive applications, large equipment layout procedures, large equipment erection.
  4. Ability to travel a significant percentage of the year.
  5. A valid passport and the ability to travel without restrictions is required.
  6. Carry a class “G” or higher driver’s license with the ability to provide a valid clear driver’s abstract within thirty (30) days of hire date.
  7. Significant time on-site, which may involve travel to client locations, manufacturing plants, or construction sites.
  8. Role requires flexibility for emergency breakdowns or late scheduling changes.
  9. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  10. Ability to follow instructions from the Parts & Service Manager, Service Coordinator, Manufacturing Supervisor, Manager, or lead hand.
  11. In the absence of supervision, capable of guiding the work needed to achieve the set objectives.
  12. Ability to understand and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Management Systems, and Company policies.
  13. Must have a team-driven attitude, work ethic, and always present themselves in a professional manner.
  14. Ability to lift lbs. (please specify the weight).
  15. International and local travel.
  16. Work in a manufacturing environment.
  17. When not traveling, report to Lead Hand for assignment within the shop.
