What You’ll Do

We are seeking a certified Red Seal Industrial Millwright to join our maintenance team supporting the operation and reliability of the emulsion plant and associated explosives handling facilities located within an active mining site. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations in a high-hazard environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, safety leadership, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated setting.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, piping, and processing equipment in the emulsion plant.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul rotating and fixed equipment to ensure optimal uptime.

  • Support commissioning, modifications, and upgrades of plant equipment and infrastructure.

  • Maintain facility systems including compressed air, hydraulic, pneumatic, and chemical feed systems.

  • Work in compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Explosives Regulations (ERD), OH&S, and applicable mine safety codes.

  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and parts usage using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.

  • Participate in safety inspections, hazard assessments, and emergency response protocols specific to explosives handling areas.

  • Follow all site-specific and company safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

What We’re Looking For

  • Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Millwright.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in chemical processing, explosives, or mining environments.

  • Familiarity with emulsion or bulk explosive manufacturing processes is an asset.

  • Experience working in hazardous or regulated environments, preferably with high-risk materials.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments safely and effectively.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis.

  • Comfortable working in remote or outdoor environments under variable weather and physical conditions.
