Job summary

A global risk management company in Southwestern Ontario is looking for experienced Millwrights / Production Operators. This position offers $60.00 per hour and requires candidates to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week. Responsibilities include performing maintenance on machinery, working with production equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates must possess a valid 433A certificate and have at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Job description
Overview

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Millwrights / Production Operators for an upcoming contract assignment in Southwestern Ontario. This position will require you to work 12 hour shifts, 7 days per week when assigned to a project. This is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs associated on various machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Service boilers and compressors
  • Installing, rebuilding, repairing and removing equipment and components
  • Use and interpret schematics and blueprints related to plant equipment
  • Open water lines for fire system
  • Operate production equipment
  • Familiarity and ability to measure and do weight conversions
  • Perform material mix manually as well as using valves, hoses, attachments pumps and filters
  • Monitor flow meters, dials and gauges
  • Operate and dispense materials using production system
  • Wash containers / vessels when needed
  • Documentation and labelling duties
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other related material handling machinery
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a variety of manufacturing facets
  • Ensure safe operation of machinery ensuring it is in good working condition and works in accordance to company regulations
  • Practice and maintain standard operating procedures and remain compliant with all quality, safety, production and environmental rules, standards and regulations
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date maintenance database records
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of lock out tag out and confined space entry
  • Experience with rigging of equipment, set-up and alignment of machinery and equipment
  • Review work assignments and job procedures to ensure safe and reliable work execution
  • Maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification
  • Min 2 years millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Valid Forklift license
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay: $60.00 per hour ($12,480 bi-weekly pre tax)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)

  • Contract Duration: 1 - 120 days
