A regional health authority in Canada is seeking a skilled Millwright who will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery. Ideal candidates will have a Journeyman Millwright certificate and experience in mechanical work. Strong communication and physical capabilities are essential. This position may require travel and the use of a personal vehicle.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Chief Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor or his designate. Performs skilled Millwright work at the journeyman level in assembling, installing, aligning, altering repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, inspecting, dismantling and moving machinery and mechanical equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Fabricates and installs machine parts and components. Utilizes computerized systems and software applications in day to day work. Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceCertificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journey Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) recognized by the Province of BC Two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
