Job description

About our client:

Our client operates a state-of-the-art bulk handling facility in Prince Rupert. The terminal receives product by rail and processes, sorts and stores for loading onto ships bound for international markets. Reporting to the Maintenance Department, this position will manage a team of unionized millwrights and apprentices.

We are looking to relocate the right candidate to Prince Rupert for the position. Compensation will include a competitive salary, bonus pay, overtime pay, pension plan, medical/dental and relocation assistance. The total package could equate to $175-200k total earnings plus pension and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates planning and scheduling of routine and preventative maintenance functions by tradespersons.
  • Ensures completion of various maintenance reports for terminal facilities including: machinery status, condition and repair, damage and evaluation, job completion, materials handling, accidents, timesheets, attendance and vacations requests.
  • Ensure work if carried out in accordance with established company standards, policies, legislative requirements and collective agreement provision, through regular crew meeting and individual communications.
  • Undertakes other projects and functions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Millwright.
  • 5 years of experience working in an industrial environment.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience with the ability to provide leadership and direction to others.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics troubleshooting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate, lead and build effective relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
