Industrial or Construction Maintenance Millwright

Location : Close to Cornwall, Ontario

Pay : 42.77 + shift premiums and OT

A world-class steel producer in Ontario is looking for a CERTIFIED: Industrial or Construction & Maintenance Millwright to join our maintenance departments. Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions for scheduled and emergency repairs. Install and inspect work, read drawings, and use precision measuring tools. Perform work with minimal supervision.
  • Inspect mill equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, or insufficient lubrication. Determine the best repair methods to minimize production interruptions. Advise on equipment condition.
  • Clean, adjust, repair, align, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical equipment. Make temporary or permanent repairs. Operate maintenance shop tools and equipment.
  • Repair hydraulic, water, lubrication, air, or gas systems and their components. Diagnose failures and determine the best repair approach to restore operation efficiently and economically.
  • Assist the repair crew during emergencies. Erect scaffolds and perform crane hooking/rigging as needed.
  • Perform minor welding, burning, and pipefitting jobs as required.
  • Interpret instructions, drawings, and work orders. Plan procedures and select tools and materials accordingly.
  • Utilize the CMMS system for maintenance management.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely to perform tasks.
  • Collaborate with other trades to maintain mill production.
  • Provide feedback on job status to the lead hand or foreman.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Industrial or Construction 443A – MANDATORY
  • Fluent in English; French (oral and written) preferred
