Position: Millwright Journeyperson - Suncor Fort Hills - Maintenance

Project Type: Maintenance

Project Location: Fort McMurray

Shift: Day/Night

Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off

Accommodations: Camp

JARDEG is recruiting a Millwright Journeyperson to join the SUNCOR Fort Hills project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a permanent position on a 7/7 shift schedule. This is a fly-in/fly-out position with camp accommodations.

Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  2. Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
  3. Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
  4. Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments
  5. Perform predictive and operational procedures
  6. Repair or replace defective parts
  7. Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  8. May do some tack welding (a weld that is adequate in size to temporarily hold components in place until it can be completely welded by a registered apprentice welder or a Journeyperson welder) and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts

Requirements:

  1. Certified Journeyperson and/or holds a valid recognized credential
  2. CSO/BSO/OSSA regional orientation
  3. ESC AWP
  4. ESC Fall Protection
  5. ESC Confined Space
  6. ESC H2S Awareness or ESC H2S Alive
  7. Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) Training certification
  8. Mask Fit Test
  9. Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
