Overview

Jardeg is recruiting Millwright Journeypersons for the Heartland Constructors Outage Program at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort McKay, Alberta. The role includes working 11.5 hours per day until project completion, with overtime for hours exceeding 8 per day and 40 per week. Accommodation and travel are provided. The position offers competitive rates and opportunities for plant movement, emphasizing a safety-first environment.

Responsibilities
  • Read diagrams, schematics, and manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies for heavy machinery
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts with precision
  • Align and test equipment, making necessary adjustments
  • Perform predictive and operational maintenance
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Service hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform tack welding, fabrication, and maintain inventory of parts
Minimum Requirements
  • Millwright Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Standard First Aid (Level A or C)
  • Basic Rigging (In-person course)
  • ESC Wood Buffalo Wildlife Orientation
  • ESC Fall Protection
  • ESC Confined Space
  • Satisfactory Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Mask Fit Test
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Other safety tickets and orientations as required
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
