Job summary

Highland Valley Copper, operated by Teck Resources, is seeking a Millwright Journeyperson for our on-site team near Logan Lake, BC. This full-time role follows a 4x4 rotation (two days, two nights, four days off) and requires residence in the local area with independent commute.

You will perform preventative maintenance, install and repair machinery, read blueprints, operate hoisting equipment, and uphold a safety-first culture under the Mill Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright certification.
• Industrial experience is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be willing to work shift work.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

About Highland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operationsis Canada's largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Supervisor, Millwrights are tasked with the repair and maintenance of on-site structures and equipment. Millwrights work a 4x4 rotation, consisting of two days, two nights, followed by four days off. This position is not camp-based; as such, candidates must reside locally and be able to commute to site independently.

Hourly Wage: $56.61

Working Conditions

• Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
• Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
