Job description

Job Purpose and Impact

As a licensed millwright you are responsible for daily completion of production processes within a work area, operational department, operational support area, or technical domain. You need to ensure that areas of responsibilities meet BU/Plant standards for safety, quality, efficiency and financial performance. Perform general maintenance work to install and maintain process equipment, structures and hatchery maintenance, has a basic knowledge of and ability to complete welding, pipe fitting, pump work, machinery, heating and plumbing, etc. This work requires knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to dealing with general repair work. Perform tasks by applying skills and knowledge of one or more products, processes, areas or machines. Have a thorough understanding of the process, work flow and works on assignments where judgment is required to resolve problems and make recommendations

Location: Jarvis, ON
Position Type: Full Time
Shift Available: Nightshift (7pm-5am, on call one week a month or as required)
Hourly Pay Rate: $38.33 CAD/hr

Key Accountabilities
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs and repair schedules.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities meet operational and regulatory standards.
  • Perform electrical (60%) and general (40%) repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance projects and contractor activities.
  • Maintain accurate records (logbooks, forms, licenses, HACCP documentation).
  • Execute work orders and support special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with safety, environmental, and CFIA audits.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage parts inventory.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Adhere to corporate EHS and FSQR policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Interprovincial red seal journeyman millwright trade certification.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, etc., to work in elevated areas of the plant, and must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to be on-call with advance notice
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends with advance notice
  • Basic use of a computer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior production or plant environment experience an asset (Knowledge of HACCP)
  • Experience in a production and/or similar environment
  • Experience within Poultry hatchery environment
  • Experience in a hatchery maintenance
