Qualifications

  • Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or enrolled in an apprenticeship.
  • Experience as a Millwright Foreperson in industrial construction.

Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical, and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. We are focused on hiring only those individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to our 'zero injury' culture.

ACSI is seeking a Millwright Foreperson who will be integral to our project’s success, responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair, and maintain equipment. Your expertise will support activities critical to the safe operation of equipment on the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts.
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance).
  • Align and test equipment and make adjustments.
  • Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic controls.
  • Perform tack welding and fabrication, and maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
  • Perform field work to a high standard and document work thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Proactively maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Instrumentation and control equipment, such as hydraulic operated valves, pressure and flow measurement devices, radiation density gauges, radar level transmitters, CCTV monitoring systems, and computerized control systems.
  • Supervise and mentor journeypersons and apprentices respectfully, overseeing their safety.
Requirements and Experience
  • Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or enrolled in a Provincial apprenticeship program.
  • CSTS-20 Certificate
  • Fall Protection – In Class
  • Experience as a Millwright Foreperson in an industrial construction environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
Project Details

Project: Giant Mine WTP

Location: Yellowknife, NT

Rate: $56.17 per hour

Overtime: As per collective agreement

Schedule: 14x7

Camp: Yes

Allowances: $60/day LOA and travel allowances based on proof of residency
