About The Role

As a Millwright within our Facilities Engineering team, you will:

  • Perform industrial millwright tasks, preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and renovation work.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various building equipment, including fans, compressors, pumps, motors, and medical devices such as patient beds and lifts.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts, including sourcing and ordering supplies as needed with approval.
  • Collaborate with other trades to address daily challenges and ensure the effective operation of building systems.
  • Help maintain a safe, reliable, and comfortable environment for staff, patients and long-term care residents.

Essential Qualifications

  • Certification: A current Certificate of Qualification as a Construction Millwright or Industrial Mechanic Millwright for the Province of Ontario
  • Education: Secondary (High) School Diploma.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years demonstrated related experience
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, customer focused, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A police record check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a healthcare environment.
  • HVAC Certification (e.g., SMT, BES).
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset

Teaching and Research

  • St Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
