Job description

Join to apply for the Millwright (Edmonton Shop) role at Siemens Energy

Most days will be spent working on various activities on rotating equipment maintenance for units such as steam turbines, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, valves, and their components like rotors, diaphragms, bearings, etc. You will be involved in all activities related to OEM units, including visual inspection, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, documenting findings in paper and digital forms, balancing components, assembly, and packaging of the unit under the guidance of a lead Journeymen Millwright.

Safety is a priority at Siemens Energy. Each morning starts with a mandatory safety meeting, and adherence to all safety rules is required. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is also essential.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Perform mechanical millwright/machinist work under supervision.
  • Prioritize health and safety by following all safety practices and reporting incidents.
  • Accurately record technical data and report findings.

What You Bring

  • Experience with disassembly, inspection, maintenance, repair, and reassembly of rotating mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Experience with rotor balancing using low-speed balance machines.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Millwright/Machinist certification or significant apprentice experience, with physical ability to lift 20 kg.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and perform calculations.
