Location: Etobicoke, ON
Shift hours: Sunday to Thursday 11:00PM - 7:30AM, 40h/week
433a License Required


The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
-Plan assigned work in an efficient way to minimize machine downtime while ensuring employee safety is maintained.
-Performing regular preventative maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE), conveyors, gear boxes and ensure the compliance to schedule.
-Perform Predictive Maintenance.
-Diagnosing mechanical failure and performing repairs on MHE, including conveyors, gear boxes, rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics system etc.
-Actively inspects and monitors all equipment to ensure system in good condition.
-Performing basic electrical work.
-Performing non-structural welding and fabrication.
-Manage work orders in CMMS properly to ensure work is properly documented and parts are restocked.
-

Additional Responsibilities
-Performing mechanical repairs for drive units (motor and gear boxes).
-Performing repairs on hydraulic and pneumatics systems.
-Performing installations, repairs and preventive maintenance on material handling equipment.
-Perform regular housekeeping duties and maintain 5S standards
-All other duties assigned.

Education
-Licensed industrial Millwright 433a certificate
-Minimum 5 years’ experience with conveyors
-Working knowledge of PLC systems and automatic sorter equipment
-Knowledge of basic electrical work
-Excellent Customer Relations skills
-Background must include demonstrable knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
-Excellent written and oral communications skills
-Welding, fitting, and or machine shop experience an asset
-Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
-Successfully pass millwright written aptitude test and driving assessments (classification 129 employees exempt from this test)
