Job summary

Leggett & Platt Canada is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Journeyperson Millwright for rotating shifts with a shift premium. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, equipment changeovers, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate holds a 433A Industrial Mechanic certificate and demonstrates strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills, with safety at the forefront of daily operations.

Qualifications

  • 433A Industrial Mechanic certificate is required for this role.
  • Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting skills on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance of manufacturing equipment using prescribed techniques.
  • Maintains log of repairs and completed preventative maintenance in CMMS.
  • Completes equipment changeovers in accordance with established standards.
  • Uses safety equipment and follows safe work practices.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Adheres to company policies and completes assigned duties.
  • Works effectively as a team member or independently.
  • Willing to work overtime on weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Upholds H&S policies and works safely.
  • Participates in ISO/TS16949/ISO14001 certification processes.

Maintenance Technician – Journeyperson Millwright – Rotating Shifts once per month (plus Shift premium)

Responsibilities
  • Performs preventative maintenance of manufacturing related equipment using the prescribed techniques.
  • Maintains log of repairs and of completed preventative maintenance in CMMS.
  • Completes equipment changeovers in accordance with established standards.
  • Makes use of all prescribed safety equipment and implement safe work practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and practices.
  • Completes assignments, duties and projects that may be assigned.
  • Capable of working effectively both as a team member and independently.
  • Willing to work overtime on weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Responsible for knowing and upholding the H&S Policy and working in a safe manner.
  • Participates in the ISO/TS16949/ISO14001 certification.
Qualifications
  • 433A Industrial Mechanic certificaterequired
  • Working at heights training, manlift/Genie booms
  • Knowledge of safety and workplace hazardous materials procedures
  • Must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, welding & machining experience.
  • Basic industrial electrical skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting skills
Compensation

Wage starts at $43.00 - $45.00/hour per the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Annual raises.
