Job description

Join to apply for the Millwright role at Griffith Foods.

Reporting to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, the Millwright works as part of a high-performing team to support the continuous and efficient production of a food manufacturing facility through preventative maintenance and responsive troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems related to plant equipment and production machines.
  2. Use machine and testing equipment to address mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  3. Operate and understand the basics of packaging equipment and related materials.
  4. Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematic diagrams.
  5. Perform welding processes such as arc welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting/welding, oxy-acetylene welding, brazing, and soldering.
  6. Install, calibrate, and set up instrumentation, process systems, and controls.
  7. Carry out preventative maintenance, recording all activities manually and via computer systems.
  8. Adhere to safety procedures and properly use all safety equipment.
  9. Adjust, calibrate, and configure plant weighing operations, metal detectors, printers, and label-making equipment.
  10. Fabricate basic machine parts as needed.
  11. Calculate and provide solutions to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  12. Offer technical support and suggestions to production and engineering teams.
  13. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  14. Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  15. Comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  1. Recognized community college training or trade certification (multiple disciplines/dual ticket preferred).
  2. 433A Canadian Millwright License is required.
  3. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a food or pharmaceutical production environment.
  4. Strong communication, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills.
  5. Ability to drive action and contribute to continuous improvement.
