Job summary

Canplas Industries Ltd. in Barrie, ON is seeking a Millwright to maintain and improve production equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and support a safety-first, quality-driven production environment.

The role requires a Red Seal/433A millwright, 3+ years in industry, and the ability to read drawings. Robotics knowledge is a plus, and you must provide basic hand tools. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold Provincial (433A) or interprovincial (Red Seal) Millwright certification.
• 3+ years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience with injection molding machines is a strong asset.
• Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.

• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, air, water and vacuum systems.
• Handle minor electrical repairs and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Maintenance | Full-time | Permanent Location: 31 Patterson Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 3V9 (view on google maps!) Shift Schedule: 12-Hour continental day shift, 7:00am - 7:15pm (7 shifts bi-weekly)

What You’ll Do

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly
• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, compressed air systems, cooling water systems, and vacuum conveying systems
• Handle minor electrical repairs and ensure compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols
• Follow environmental and waste management guidelines
• Collaborate with team members and take on additional tasks as needed

What You’ll Bring

• Provincial (433A) or interprovincial (Red Seal) Millwright certification (dual ticket certification is a strong asset)
• 3 or more years of experience in an industrial environment
• Experience with injection molding machines is a strong asset
• Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
• Ability to interpret drawings and schematics
• Knowledge or experience with robotics and automation equipment is preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Required to have your own basic hand tools
