Qualifications

Overview

We are offering a fast-paced, career-elevating opportunity at our candy plant in Milton, Ontario. The expectation for every employee of this unique and flexible facility is to work cooperatively as part of the team to produce safe, high-quality food products, efficiently and effectively. As an integral team member, you will be required to help out as needed to accomplish this goal, regardless of the position, consistent with Dare values.

This is an afternoon shift position, 8-hour shift, 2:30pm-10:30pm Monday to Friday.

Full Rate for this position is $43.08 + shift premium.

Key Ingredients
  1. Demonstrate solid communication and interpersonal skills in a team-based work environment.
  2. Ensure production downtime is minimized and production output is maximized.
  3. Perform mechanical preventative maintenance on all facility equipment as assigned.
  4. Respond promptly to breakdown calls and troubleshoot/repair the problems.
  5. Perform breakdown analysis to create action plans to address root causes.
  6. Perform mechanical maintenance activities safely and report unsafe conditions.
  7. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the maintenance shop.
  8. Requires standing, walking, reaching, and bending for periods of time across all areas of the facility. Ability to lift up to 30lbs in a safe manner.
  9. Reliable attendance and punctuality; flexibility in work schedule to accommodate business requirements, including optional weekend overtime.
  10. Some repairs will be conducted in high or low temperature environments, depending on the location within the facility.
  11. Utilize our CMMS to receive, complete and close Work Orders, as well as order parts.
Recipe for Success
  1. Minimum 2-5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Must have a valid Ontario industrial millwright trade licence 433A.
  3. Experience reading and troubleshooting based on mechanical diagrams and schematics drawings.
  4. Experience using a CMMS to receive, complete and close Work Orders, as well as order parts.
  5. Experience in a food manufacturing environment would be considered a definite asset.
  6. Experience fabricating and welding is considered a definite asset.
  7. Must bring your own tools; a tool allowance is provided to replace tools.
  8. Experience with packaging equipment, specifically bagmakers, is an asset.
