Job description

We are seeking a Millwright to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Mechanical Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for providing repairs, overhauls, and new builds to mining related equipment.

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario, on a 14 on/ 14 off rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance requirements in relation to millwright services.
  • Repair, service and rebuild equipment as directed.
  • Actively participate in developing and building preventative maintenance schedules and objectives.
  • Support all departmental initiatives with a concentration on preventative maintenance and construction initiatives.
  • Install, maintain, modify and repair machinery and stationary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action as required.
  • Perform operational equipment checks.
  • Repair pipes that feed TEWTP and some other outdoor work.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends to prepare mechanical maintenance reports.
  • Perform hot work such as cutting and welding.
  • Maintain clean a clean, orderly and safe work environment.
  • Follow health and safety policies to ensure safety and environmental protection.
  • Collaborate with planning departments and shop personnel to ensure maintenance requirements are met.
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities and ongoing maintenance requirements.
Required Experience and Skill Set
  • 5+ years of relevant professional work experience, including 2 years of experience in a mine setting is required.
  • Dual trade designation/certification is considered an asset.
