Job summary

Canplas Industries Ltd. in Barrie, ON is seeking a Millwright to maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring safety, quality and continuous improvement.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot injection molding and related systems, interpret drawings, and work with robotics where applicable. A 433A Red Seal and 3+ years of experience are required, plus your own basic hand tools. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must hold 433A or interprovincial Red Seal millwright certification.
• 3+ years in an industrial environment.
• Experience with injection molding machines is a strong asset.
• Ability to interpret drawings and schematics.
• Own basic hand tools required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, compressed air systems, cooling water systems, and vacuum conveying systems.
• Handle minor electrical repairs and ensure safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
• Follow environmental and waste management guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members and take on additional tasks as needed.

The pay rate for this role is $41.81/hour

Location : 31 Patterson Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 3V9 (view on google maps! )
Shift Schedule : 12-Hour continental day shift, 7:00am - 7:15pm (7 shifts bi-weekly)

What You’ll Do

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly

• Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines, compressed air systems, cooling water systems, and vacuum conveying systems

• Handle minor electrical repairs and ensure compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols

• Follow environmental and waste management guidelines

What You’ll Bring

• Provincial (433A) or interprovincial (Red Seal) Millwright certification (dual ticket certification is a strong asset)

• 3 or more years of experience in an industrial environment

• Experience with injection molding machines is a strong asset

• Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills

• Ability to interpret drawings and schematics

• Knowledge or experience with robotics and automation equipment is preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Required to have your own basic hand tools

Working Conditions

Requires a high degree of mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50lbs alone. Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, odors, cold, dust, noise levels and the use of sharp tools.
