Job description

CertainTeed Canada has an exciting career opportunity for a Millwright based in Calgary to join our Finishing Plant team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Millwright will contribute to our safety-first production operations by regularly inspecting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and support our continuous improvement initiatives, including World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards and lean manufacturing.

The Millwright shall also support safety initiatives and ensure manufacturing equipment meets quality specifications as set by CertainTeed Canada, Inc. (Saint-Gobain).

DUTIES :
  • Ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times
  • Perform equipment preventive and reactive maintenance activities
  • Perform equipment calibrations to specification ranges
  • Be available for after-hours emergencies (“on call”)
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on all plant equipment
  • Develop and execute weekly, monthly, and annual Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules
  • Manage building maintenance and parts inventory according to company guidelines
  • Issue permits and hazard assessments for mechanical and electrical work, including contractors
  • Manage maintenance parts inventory and generate purchase requisitions
  • Process expense reports and manage purchasing card transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Support production during labor shortages or small pail runs, participate in health and safety activities, perform safety audits, assist in inventory cycle counts, and perform other tasks as directed.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Red Seal Millwright certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ industrial maintenance experience
  • WCM or Lean Manufacturing training or certification, including 5S principles
Additional Requirements :
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with SAP software, including troubleshooting and programming PLCs
WORKING CONDITIONS :
  • 4-day, 10-hour shifts (Friday to Monday)
  • Aligned lunch and coffee breaks
  • On-call for emergencies with company-provided cell phone
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
  • Lift containers of at least 50 lbs
  • Work outdoors in extreme cold conditions during winter
