Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is recruiting for a Mill Operator to join the Mill team at our Young-Davidson operation near Matachewan, Ontario.

The role reports to the Supervisor, Mill Operations and involves supporting mill crews during 12-hour shifts on a 7/7 rotation. The successful candidate will have 1–2 years ore processing mill experience, basic Mill core modules accreditation, and the ability to operate heavy mobile equipment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in an Ore Processing Mill.
• Accreditation of basic Mill common core modules.
• Able to operate heavy mobile equipment.
• Able to perform heavy lifting.
• Able to work at height.
• Able to work in heat, cold, dusty, noise, wet, chemical environments.
• Self-motivated.
• Capable of making decisions with minimum supervision.
• Basic understanding of mill settings and related equipment (ball mill, pumps, conveyors, crushers).
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical functions.
• Able to wear respiratory protection as required.

Responsibilities

• Works and ensure all workers work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants and all other applicable government standards and regulations;
• Adheres to and enforces all safety and environmental considerations;
• Enforces internal responsibility system and Five Point Safety System;
• Ensures damaged or unsafe equipment is not used and removed from operations until safe;
• Assist or participate in daily safety meetings;
• Follow-up on housekeeping;
• Maintains working area and equipment in clean and orderly conditions;
• All other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
