Mill Operator

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products, and people to build walls, ceilings, and careers.

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Dunnage Operator for our manufacturing facility in Hagersville, ON! We are considering internal candidates for this one-year term position. This role involves a rotating shift schedule in a continuous operation. The successful candidate will go through Common Core training and be trained through the operator rate program.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently conducts the daily operations of the mill department with a focus on housekeeping
• May train as a Sink Float Operator, Loader Operator, Screening Plant Operator and Kettle Operator
• Performs basic maintenance tasks to help service equipment
• Helps train other operators
• Takes an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Adapts to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing / mining environment is nice to have but not required
• High school diploma required
• Able to follow verbal and written work instructions, use basic hand tools and proficiency in basic computer use
• Strong desire to learn and work as part of a collaborative, respectful team
• Shows leadership, time management, communication and problem-solving skills
• Track record of great work performance, attendance, and safety behaviors.
