Job description

Your mission:

The primary responsibility of the Mill Coordinator is to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the mill. The Mill Coordinator is a shift supervisor responsible for supervising the fibreline and machine room operations personnel as well as shift trades.

  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operations of the mill.
  • Completing and recording safety observations.
  • Supervision of shift personnel to ensure the optimum operation of the Kraft Mill.
  • Overseeing training and development of the Kraft Mill crews utilizing the mill’s competency-based training system to ensure proper performance.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with crew members, as well as other departmental management and staff.
  • Working as part of a team to actively pursue methods for the ongoing improvement of mill operations.
  • Emergency scheduling of workforce.

Your profile:

  • Direct fibreline/pulp machine operational experience in a kraft pulp mill (similar manufacturing experience will be considered).
  • Relevant education would be considered an asset, including a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Supervisory experience in an industrial setting and demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a desire to progress, learn, and succeed.
