About Us

Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

We have grown steadily over the last 30+ years by focusing on our customers long term success. Today, the DLS group of companies (DLS) employ over 110 team members. Details About The Job

The successful candidate will work with customers and the DLS team to service automated milking equipment at various dairy farms located in central Alberta.

This is a full-time position Monday – Friday. We offer a total compensation package which includes competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, workwear, PPE and the opportunity for growth and advancement, come grow with us!

Once trained, there will be a requirement for this individual to be on call for emergency service, this would mean one night per week and one weekend each month.

A company vehicle and phone will be provided (after 3 months probation period).

Job Duties
  • Service automated dairy farm milking equipment which involves experience in electrical, electronics, compressed air and hydraulics.
  • Troubleshoot to locate faulty equipment issues.
  • Make repairs and get equipment back in operating condition – often under tight timelines.
  • Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers.
  • Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards.
  • Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Good understanding of electronics, PLCs, and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and take ownership of assigned work.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with customers regarding the work being done.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks that may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
Additional Information
  • Background in the dairy industry is an asset.
  • Service Technician experience would be an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada.
  • Must maintain a valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract and your own vehicle, we are not located on a public transportation route.
